G Force 9800 card

Featured Replies

Hey guy's! New to the forum here and fairly new to the flight sim in general so I hope you all will forgive me but I'm probably going to need a lot of advice. First I would like to say WOW! What an experience, I wish I would have dicovered this flight sim years ago.

I have an xps that seems to meet the minimun requirements to use the 737ngx ,however I have an intergrated video card nividia g force 9800 with aq display memory of 2288 mb,dedicated memory of 497and a shared memory of 1790mb , will this meet the min requirements as well ?

Curt, do you have a laptop? If so, what kind do you have and what are it's complete specifications.Kind regards,

No . I have an xps dual core e8400 4gb 3.desktop 4gb ram 3.0 ghz processer but i now have another question, I just downloaded the 737 ngx and its asking me for the activation code to play and i dont seem to have gotten it so i'm stuck

Curt,You called your 9800 card "integrated" so that is why I asked if you have a laptop. You should have received your activation code when you bought the 737 NGX. Where did you buy it from and have you asked them for support? Also, you might want to ask for help on the codes from the people from PMDG by explaining it to them on the AVSIM unofficial PMDG thread a few sections down.Kind regards,

Thank you for the reply, Its ok now, when copying the licence code I was typing in the letter o instead of using zero's where needed, so i got the game and am pretty happy with it . I called dell and talked to the tech people , they recomended the radion hd 4670 1 gb video card and the corsair 6 mb ram. when i checked the bio's on my computer it said that the card was intergrated, however , the tech support team from dell said that it will be removable simply by un-pluging it and installing a new one. the radion hd 4670 video card is probably be fine for the procceser that I have, which is a dual core 3.0 ghz installed in the 630 i xps that i currrently have. Don't want to get to carried away because i probably will spring for a 7i in the future.

What the hell? A 4670 is not faster than any 9800, and you probably don't need more RAM than 4GBI would suggest download GPU-Z and see exactly what GPU is that, since there is a 9800 gt, 9800 gtx, 9800m gt, 9800m gtx, 9800m gs, 9800m gtsThen check your GPU usage in MSI afterburner and your CPU usage in Task Manager to see if you really need a GPU upgrade or you are CPU limited. Also check your memory usage in task manager to decide if you need more RAM or not

I'm CPU limited, I may have to research over clocking to speed things up.
