FS2004 TEXTURES: Remove lower mip=map textures

Featured Replies

All,If this was possible, I'm sure the "performance" would go down but my machine should handle that issue. Is there a way to REMOVE all of the lower mip-map textures so when FS2004 goes to render a blurry texrure (low mip map), it can't?Tim

I'd say no. The thing is, the sim won't load when certain textures have an incorrect format or when mip maps are missing - I know from experience that when the oceanheightfield has an incorrect number of mips, the sim will crash. If I understand correctly, you'd like to remove only the lowest resolution mips, so there'd be like 2 mip maps in addition to the original texture, am I correct? If this did work, it would at least give you some additional stutters whenever a texture loads the first time (thus, the "first" mip map), as it is considerably larger than normal.-Daniel

Hi, "If this was possible, I'm sure the "performance" would go down but my machine should handle that issue. Is there a way to REMOVE all of the lower mip-map textures so when FS2004 goes to render a blurry texrure (low mip map), it can't?"For the Terrain Ground System:If you remove the mip map with the ground terrain, the texture will cause opaque black texture and create mixed texture pop up for all others 5 mip maps from 6. Msfs ground engine render the lower mip map to the highest mip maps: lower 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 higher (pop ups mode in a cross area rendering system)

Kind Regards
