November 18, 201114 yr I Know what the AFCARS is but is the DFDAU?Will they ever work? Why are they in if they are grey and cannot be used?Thx Ian Ian C. McCulloch 'What would one do without Malt Whisky? Slainte Mhath' It only can get better
November 18, 201114 yr Now what? AFCAS (Automated Flight Control and Augmentation System) or ACARS (ARINC Communications Addressing and Reporting System)?Talking about the NGX, I assume you're referring to the latter. I doubt it'll be done. You'd have to have a reliable data provider for all sorts of data that may be received via ACARS, and model all possibilities for ACARS data to populate/up-link certain areas of the FMC.And I personally see little point in accessing the DFDAU (Digital Flight Data Acquisition Unit) functionality. Basically this thing is responsible for generating the digital format for all aircraft parameters that need to be stored in the "black box". Not a too hot thing for a flight simulator. Dave P. Woycek
