February 4, 200422 yr When I change view from straight ahead to left or right over the wing, my monitor screen flashes red or green just for an instant then the normal over the wing view appears. Am I the only one with this. I searched here without finding anything.I've tried these:1. I uninstalled FS2004 and reinstalled in a different directory.2. I deleted all the fs9.cfg files and let FS2004 renew them.3. I deleted the nVidia 53.03 drivers and installed the older 52.16 set.I'm beginning to wonder if I have a graphics card that is going bad.Interestingly, between changing drivers, I brought up FS2004 using the software drivers. Performance FPS was low but I didn't see the color flash.Any thoughts on possible causes? Thanks,LarrySystem:Asus FS 5900 Ultra (256 MB) with nVidia 52.16. February 4, 200422 yr Just a quick update. This problem is FS2004 specific. FS2002 does not have the flash of color(red or green) on changing views (Again the problem goes like this: command look left, flash of color, then left view appears, number pad 8 look straight ahead, flash of color then normal forward cockpit view shows)Also it's not the graphics card. I swapped out the Asus V9950 5900 ultra video card with a LeakTek TI4600. Problem remained after swap.I haven't found any other program which is affected except FS2004.Another symptom of the problem is upon closing the FS 2004 window, the top third of the FS window is green (some times red/pink) just for an instant before the window disappears. Bottom of the window is black.Must be a software glitch somewhere!Larry
February 4, 200422 yr This was a strange one!!!This is the fix. Download the DX9.0B redistributable from M$.It was found here:http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...&DisplayLang=enInstall, reboot and the color flashes upon view change went away (At least for now!)I'm not even going to try to understand this one. If any graphics whiz has an explanation, I'm sure it would be interesting to hear.Hope this description and fix helps someone else.Larry JonesFlorence, MT
February 4, 200422 yr Moderator Larry - Are you saying that you were NOT using 9.0b prior to this or that you were using it and just REINSTALLED 9.0b?Thanx,Vic RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
February 4, 200422 yr Vic,I had 90b installed and working without causing FS2004 to hic-up. Apparently Directx 9.0b became somehow corrupted and the reinstall cleared up what ever problem there was.Larry
