November 25, 201114 yr Hi all-I recently purchased the Americas. I have Win7 on one drive and FSX on its own drive. I have another available drive in my box.FSG installed 25gb of files on C drive which pushed me well beyond 80% capacity. Can those files be deleted, or does FSX 'look' for those files when I start up? If not, can I reinstall those files on my third drive in order to save space? I can't find anything related to this in the docs and support is non-existent.Thanks,Mark
November 25, 201114 yr Mark,Best way to proceed (and also the longest one) is to reinstall Fsglobal. You can install the scenery anywhere you want, thus also on a third drive.I guess, when you installed the first time, you didn't change the default install directory ansso all files ended up on your c: drive. If you know your way around in the registry, you could try to copy all those files to another drive. But you will be forced to change the registry manually and the scenery.cfg too if I am correctGood luckLuc BrusselmansBelgium.
November 25, 201114 yr Author Thanks, Luc.BTW, is uninstalling a matter of deleting the entry in the scenery library and manually deleting the existing files on my C drive? I tried using the uninstall option in Win7 but get an error saying it can't locate a log file or something similar. No uninstall directions in the docs, either.
November 25, 201114 yr You can do a copy and paste to a different location. You will need to adjust the entries in the Scenery Library. I'd suggest starting FSX and seeing how the entries are prior to moving the files, delete those layers, exit FSX, copy and paste the files where you want them, start FSX and add the new layers into the Scenery Library with the new locations. One of the default FSX files is replaced in the installation process. Trying to do an uninstall does not restore the default file.
