FSX OOM at 2.5g mem using W7 64bit

Featured Replies

Hi all,I have FSX running nice finally with an OC 2600k @ 5.0 & W7 64bit with 16g of ram. However I still get the dreaded OOM flying the PMDG MD11, the NGX dose not seem so mem hungry. Using Task Manager and the processes TAB I notice the Memory usage climbs slowly until around 2.5g then I get the OOM.I thought 64bit should allow at least up to 4g. Is there something wrong with my version of W7, it seems like it thinks its a 32bit version.thxdw

What is your virtual memory performance (page file) setting. I have found that 'system managed size' works the best and Windows 7 doesn't like anyone tickering with that setting. It could also be a problem with the overclock. Best regards,Jim

Hi Firehawk,Sorry for the delay. I posted this up on the FSX forum and have now some interesting reading, I have mine set on SYS managed but only on my W7 SSD drive. Not sure if I should have it on Automatically manage instead but fiddling with this seemed to make no difference. My only success so far after reading a lot was to drop back the LOD_RADIUS in the FSX CFG and that seems to have fixed it so far but with less candy sadly.IM
