What's the "Let AI control plane" for?

Featured Replies

I tried the "Let AI control plane" option in XP10 a few times and couldn't get it to do anything meaningful. Turning it on while sitting on the runway does nothing. If you go full-throttle and turn off the brakes and start rolling forward and turn it off, it just cuts the throttle but doesn't steer. I tried it in the air a few times and it would cut the throttle and fly into the ground. Is this a feature that isn't finished yet? Just curious. :)

I've not used it myself but my bet is you have to file a flight plan first, otherwise, how is it supposed to know what to do and where to go?

I suppose that's a good point. I haven't tried that yet.

From what I can tell they do their own thing -there sure do on takeoff-just go across whatever is in the way!For fun put the plane at packwood, wa and tell it to fly itself. Seems to know how to get out of the mountain passes and great scenery!

When I enable the feature, the plane is randomly positioned in the air and flies off in no particular direction.
