December 1, 201114 yr Hi i was climbing to FL240 when the overspeed warning came on i was climbing in VNAV mode and the wind was 303/62 my heading was 277 i was just wondering what can i do to stop this or is this normal.Regards Chris
December 1, 201114 yr What was your speed? Can you repeat this & take a few screenshots of your panels? If this happened very suddenly with a rapid speed change it was probably the weather updating. December 1, 201114 yr Author Will have a go tommorow I left Liverpool en route to cork and I'm using Rex 2. It seemed that whn I approached cork there were bad thunderstorms would this cause this sort of behaviour.
December 1, 201114 yr If you have turbulence enabled, yes. You'll likely have to disable it to avoid these situations. If you have A registered copy of fsuipc (definitely worth having for this and other reasons) you can use it to suppress turbulence without completely eliminating it and smooth out wind changes from weather updates so they aren't so sudden.Without wind smoothing you could literally go from an 80kt tailwind to an 80kt headwind in the blink of an eye, causing your airspeed to spike by 160kts...Another workaround is to download your weather at the beginning & then set it to static, so it doesn't update.
