February 6, 200422 yr Hello!I was wondering if there is any way to set multiple visibility layers in FS9 like you can do with the clouds? If it can't be done from the weather menu in the simulator, can it be done using an external program accessing the sim through FSUIPC?Thanks for your suggestions!Scott :-)ATP/CFII - KCOS, in the real aviation world.
February 6, 200422 yr You can't do it through MSFS....I don't know about FSUIPC....In theory, it could be done with an external program reading a table of some type.... The program would have to monitor MSFS and the aircraft's altitude, and set the vis according to the altitude so that it "seems" like one is going through various vis layers....-John
February 6, 200422 yr Can't do it from inside FS. This in my humble opinion is a huge falling down of the weather engine. The overcast issue is another along with the inability to get smooth transitions and decent looking low layered type fog/clouds. I just happily use John's technique for the overcast, 1 problem solved!Hornit
February 6, 200422 yr Thanks. That's what I thought.Too bad. It sure would be nice to have different visibilities at different altitudes.ScottATP/CFII - KCOS
