December 3, 201114 yr Hi there I have been using a ATI 4890 vapor x graphic card with asus p8p67 deluxe board, sandy-bridge i2600k cpu running at 4.5, with 16 gb corsair vengeance lp ram, using win 7 64 bit and it all works fine, but due to building a 2nd pc I have decided to replace the ati 4890 card in my main pc and use it in the second pc ,but with what? should I try a nvidia card ? which I am lead to believe by is more attuned to the needs of FSX or stick to ati ,I have read many forums ref graphic cards but I am still no wiser ,my budget is £250 any help will stop me going bonkers ,these cards seem to change so quickly it is diff to keep up ,many thanks for taking he time to read thispeter

December 12, 201114 yr Author Hi ,I have been looking into purchasing the Asus ENGGTX 570 to replace my ati 4890 which now with the install of REX ,GEX , UTX seems to be struggling to keep up ( spikes appearing ) ,the Asus looks very good from all points esp overclocking and cooling ,but I have read that a lot of people seem to run Nvidia cards in windows mode rather than full screen when playing MS FSX,is this the current situation with Nvidia cards or am I reading old news and ideas ,I find the trouble with the web is that things you read can quickly become old hat ,does anyone run the Asus ENGGTX 570 for MS FSX ,I have enclosed a link to asus for details of the card. any information on this card or other suggestions will be gratefully received, thanks for reading thispeterhttp://uk.asus.com/Graphics_Cards/NVIDIA_Series/ENGTX570_DCII2DIS1280MD5/
December 15, 201114 yr Author Hello ,I have now fitted the Asus GTX 570 to my Pc ,and what a difference this card has made!. I fired up FSX and flew from London City Airport to Birmingham in a BAE146 ,well i would say The new card is so much sharper! I am seeing things in so much detail it is amazing ,I think i am seeing things that I haven't. seen before if that is possible,it is so smooth , not a stutter in sight ,frames around 40 to 60, at 1900x1200 res on my HP lp2475w screen, and all slider to max just to see what would happen, and all this with no tweaks ,no adjustment made to nvidia driver ,and with no overclocking etc ,I wonder if It can look any better with all the tweaks I have read about,I need to find out how to implement them what I don't understand is I have read lots of comments by people who say that the graphic card plays just a small part in the look of FSX and it is mainly down to the cpu ,I suppose that my Sapphire 4890 vapor x card was causing a bottle neck for the i 2600k cpu ,so i suppose its all a matter of balance ,I dont know if Im right or wrong but it will be fun finding out many thanks for reading peter
