December 10, 201114 yr Interesting experiments today. Tried to use Benny's OSM to better populate the Seattle CBD. It seemed to work real well. Actually, my first flight was incredible, I hadn't made my way downtown. The flight around the railyards was gobsmacking, so much detail. Then the flight across the CBD, beautiful, with a nice mixture of tall and small building making their way up the incline. Then I realised eventually - I'd made an error with the install of the new OSM scenery - what I was experiencing was Xplane default!!!!!!!!Hmm, that pretty well proves it in my mind - the plausible approach does work, at least if you've never visited or looked it up in Google! So that's what I did, checked it out in GE and yes, the CBD should be far more dense.Hence this afternoon (actually a lot of the day), struggling along with Blender. It was great practice and a learning exercise. So I'll keep going till I get a pretty dense CBD look, then export it. If it works, I'll post it here for everyone to use. I used GE as a background to place the objects, but the textures won't be true to life, nor will many of the intricate shapes. But It'll be heaps better than default. Geeze I'm beginning to hate texturing, it's so fiddly! Simmo W, Melbourne, Ozhttp://www.youtube.com/user/id5556

It'll be excellent for the building textures. Incredible tech that. If only we could just export straight out to xplane or msfs! Simmo W, Melbourne, Ozhttp://www.youtube.com/user/id5556
