December 11, 201114 yr I intend to do a lot online flying with input from traffic control.Unfortunately I have difficulties understanding the various voice traffic control instructions( in most cases ) since the controller talks to fast, not clear enough etcFrom what I understand it is possible to use text instead of voice but I am not surehow this works.Do I ask the controller to communicate in text or is there an option to do itautomatically ?And which program is better suited,Squawk box or FSInn ?Herbert Werni Herbert Werni
December 15, 201114 yr You have the option of using either Text, Voice Receive or Voice while flying on the VATSIM network, although most pilots fly using Voice. If you are flying and you do not understand what a controler is saying, you can always ask him to slow down and repeat. In SquawkBox, there is a drop down box where you can select which method you prefer to use to communicate with ATC and it will appear in your tag. I don't use FSInn, but I am pretty sure it must have the same option. If not, you can simply add the following in your flight comments:/T Test/R Voice Receive/V VoiceRegards, VATSIM: P2 | I1
