December 12, 201114 yr MY X980 CPU factory overclock settings is 3.743.MHz with X28.0 multiplier. Can I achieve 4MHz with changing CPU Clock Ratio to X30.0 multiplier and setting CPU Vcore to 1.35888 ? ( Temps around 50-60C )THX Ahmet Sanal "Time you enjoyed wasting, was not wasted"

December 12, 201114 yr Author sorry. it is 980X not 480X Ahmet Sanal "Time you enjoyed wasting, was not wasted"
December 12, 201114 yr Gotcha Ahmet.I'd say go for it, though 1.36v may or may not give a stable overclock at 4.0GHz on that chip. Are you familiar with overclocking at all? How to check stability? What are you stressing the CPU with to get the temps you mentioned? You should be able to get to 4.0-4.1GHz relatively easily if you have a decent cooler with the 980x. Which leads to the next question: What cooler is installed? For that matter, the rest of your system specs would be nice. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
December 12, 201114 yr Author Zach,Thanks for your reply. I never did overclock. December 13, 201114 yr Perfect! Start at a voltage of 1.37V (no more while you're new) and 4.0GHz. Work your way down on the voltage until you have a minimum voltage with good stability and acceptable temps (no more than 75-80C). You'll be rebooting that system quite a few times to find that minimum stable voltage. That's how I overclock new builds; by working my way down.Use CPU-Z to check Vcore when under load. Good luck. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
