February 12, 200422 yr I just installed the CarrierOps package into my Viper with the Eric Marciano panel. Everything works fine except the meatball HUD. The problem may be that I'm using 02, but the HUD is not transparent as in the examples. All of the meatball gauges show up but they are inside of a black panel. Can anyone help?
February 13, 200422 yr Author Yes, I can :-) Just found this out myself, because someone else asked me the same.In the meatball window, after the Ident= line, add:render_3d_window=1Unfortunately this seems to be another tricky difference between FS2002 and FS2004.See also this thread for further details on transparant window behaviour, if you are interested.http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho..._id=16414&page=Cheers, Rob Barendregt
February 13, 200422 yr Rob, it's an amazing bit of kit, thank you. I know it'll be popular because so many of us miss ArrCab in FS2004.I haven't managed to spot a meatball in my HUD yet (not even spaghetti - I've set up the F-14B) and the latest version of the F-14B doesn't seem to have room for your Sonic Boom effect in the LIGHTS list but I'll play with that. I'm probably not on track, which is when you see the carniverous sphere, right? Anyway, she lands just fine. Love it.Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/newlogo.jpg _________________________ Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumont VP Fleet, DC-3 Airways Team Member, MAAM-SIM
February 13, 200422 yr Thanks, Rob,That worked perfectly. I'll keep your notes in the other post in case I encounter this type of thing again.
February 13, 200422 yr Author Hi Mark,As you may have guessed, the "meatball" is the moving circle. Now, if you see the hor. and vert. red bars (which might be in the green frame lines) you should also see the circle anywhere in the frame. If not, either the ILS is not dialed into NAV1, or the ILS is not captured. (check against your normal NAV instrument). And yes, for Dino's FS2004 F14B you have to sacrify a Light. The reason I don't use that myself (but the FS2002 version), is because of the GMAX problems that are in this new version (like the non-moving nozzles). And since I'm still a fan of 2D-cockpits (unless a 3D-Cockpit is fully functional/clickable), the new version doesn't add much for me, so I'll stick with the (still great !!) old one.Cheers, Rob
