Turbulence plus some other issues with AS2012

Featured Replies

How do you get overcast it with AS2012? Current weather conditions at YSCB has severe turbulence at 1000 ft yet on takeoff I get none. I fly a circuit around YSCB in and out of cloud and I still get hardly any turbulence when the prevailing weather is heavy rain and thunderstorms. In the weather options section I have turbulence set to min 70% and max 100%. Other issuesLighning can get displayed in a rather odd and unrealistic manner eg as a fork running horizontal near the ground and in clear air away from clouds. Can't get overcast = all I can get is about 4-5/8 despite overcast in the METAR - I will just add my own compliant here to the general clamor on this issue even though IMO ASE was even worse.I'm beginning to think that he quest for the depiction of current realtime weather in FSX is a pretty hopeless quest if after all these years some basic things aren't fixed and that we just have to be satisfied with the nice graphics (mostly) that programs such as REX and AS provide and forget about replicating anything close to current weather conditions.ThanksBruce
