  1. Amen to that! I tried FSHud but quickly abandoned it because of the voices. Bruce
  2. Well I am sure it will look amazing but honestly, with so many other regions that would benefit from an WU, another US centric one is disappointing. Bruce
  3. I find Lock very annoying and as this bird is only available from marketplace looks like I will have to tone down my initial excitement about its release. Bruce
  4. I also fly largely in Australia but I am not sure about Atmos as when I look out of the cockpit in MSFS2024 I wonder how what I see it could be improved upon. It was different in 2020 when Atmos made a big difference. Bruce
  5. Milford Sound is in New Zealand. Sorry just saw this and couldn't resist. Bruce
  6. For a product like this I would be looking for airline specific announcements and regional accents as I fly almost exclusively in Australia or NZ - so Aussie and Kiwi accents and Qantas, Virgin and Air NZ etc announcements. Bruce
  7. I have never used the default camera system as I only moved to MSFS2024 once Chaseplane was supported having used it with 2020 and P3D - so I was familiar with the chaseplane way of doing things. I think it was an advantage having never used the default camera as I didn't have to unlearn anything. If you have a lot of aircraft it can be a lengthy process setting up all your camera views in Chaseplane but but the process is very straight forward. Bruce
  8. Yes I noticed the crocodile in the Murray Valley National Park - gave me quite a laugh Bruce
  9. You can pause time in Developer mode same as in 2020. Bruce
  10. This is a very impressive update to my homeland - I am particularly pleased that Lord Howe Island has received an enhancement. Even before the update I noticed that the coastline near my home town of Merimbula on the NSW far south coast was much more detailed in MSFS2024 compared to 2020 Bruce
  11. What I have found is that while 4090 GPU temps are up somewhat especially in external views I no longer get "Limited by main thread" with CPU load more even across all cores on my 9800X3D. Bruce
  12. Well that is a pity as these cracks in the ocean have been a visual annoyance for me from day 1 with 2024 - something I don't remember seeing in 2020.
  13. Night graphics are in general an improvement over MSFS2020 except for being too bright in any moonlight other than full moon and one other gripe is that you get street lights on major highways well away from built up areas - but this has always been the case in earlier sims as well. Bruce
  14. AFAIK you need to replace the 2024 default 787-10 with the 2020 default version for the Horizon 787 to work in 2024. Bruce
  15. OK figured it out. Now the only problem is that with a 10 sec google search I can find out that the weather today at Milford Sound is cloudy but Active Sky displays it as CAVOK. There are other discrepancies but of a minor nature. I guess this would all relate to how/where from AS is getting its data from. It may be from stations not all that far away but due to local topography could well have very different weather. It can be pouring rain at Milford Sound but dry and mild on the eastern side of the Southern Alps. Would Typical Weather by Parallel 42 be a better option? Perhaps not as typical weather for NZMF would be IMC and IRL you just have to wait for a break in the weather to fly in and out. Having live weather that actually worked for NZMF would be the best option. Bruce EDIT Milford Sound looks fantastic in MSFS2024 with CAVOK weather
  16. I have Active Sky but how do you use it so there is no snow? Thanks.
  17. Forgive me for a minor gripe but with live weather there is still permanent snow and ice at Milford Sound (New Zealand) after 5 and a 1/2 years and two simulators! Bruce
  18. Having Pause at TOD enabled is very helpful even if you don't run your computer for 9 hours (although I do frequently). You can be on a two hour flight and be away for your PC and get back only to find that your aircraft has passed TOD and is now well above the Vnav profile - you may be able to retrieve things but it will be a pain to do so. So if there is some trick to unpausing at TOD for the A340-600 I would also like to be informed as well. Bruce
  19. May have to consider this as I don't think I would get a BS King Air if it has a 350 airframe but analogue gauges (as in 2020 which I passed on). I would rather have the older B200 with analogue gauges. Takes me back to FS2004/FSX and the Aeroworx B200. I know it is not the way Carenado do business but perhaps there will be some worthwhile updates for the B200. Bruce
  20. Well yes that is the sort of thing I was also hoping for. Bruce
  21. Hmm- a few worthwhile improvements but overall a largely cosmetic update. Bruce
  22. Hmm tried this and it doesn't seem to work all my content.xml edits get overwritten at next FS boot. Bruce
  23. Well I had to get this bird as there hasn't been a 340-600 since early FSX days (may have been earlier) and because I made the mistake of getting the inbuilds A340 with the false impression it included both variants - my bad. Now I can see why many are banging on about textures being below par but hopefully it will do the job as it is unlikely we will see another developer do an A340-600 any time soon. Bruce
