February 14, 200422 yr When making ILS approaches, the approach on autopilot seems to pickup the glidescope, and it makes the corrections to line up on the runway, but the descent takes me into the harbor :(.I tried to look into this, so forgive me if this has been beaten to death.I have been flying VFR since the FS2004 release day. I have only been using ATC with IFR rules for a couple of months. So far my favorite is KSNA John Wayne to KPHX Sky Harbor 26R. ILS, ATC work awesome to make it seem real.
February 16, 200422 yr If you increasingly deviate from the ILS (i.e. the horizontal needle turns more and more upward), make sure that you keep your speed up - try it with a faster approach. Also, make sure that you have less than 30% fuel in your tanks. If the GS needle stays centered and you still end up in the drink, then use AFCAD2 to edit the ILS so you arrive at the runway.Hope this helps,--Tom GibsonCal Classic Propliner Page: http://www.calclassic.comFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.comDrop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___ Tom Gibson CalClassic Propliner Page
February 17, 200422 yr Author FWIW, that ILS is a Cat 1, which means that you can only decend to 200' AGL on the GS. At 200' you'll have to fly it visually, which means it's not accurate enough for the autopilot to land you right on the numbers. ;-) Matt KaprockiFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
