Ok, I havent run FSX for about 5 weeks or so. Last time I ran it, I flew a routine flight like always and exited the program, it has not been run since. So, yesterday I decided I was gonna get back into 737 and go for a flight. Well, I see the new update so I read over it and install it. Ok, now for the issues.The first time it loads up there is no V/C. Just bits and pieces of panel and nothing else, kinda like a skeleton of the V/C. I try several reboots, nothing. So now I just uninstall 737ngx, clean all remnants of old install and install fresh. Then I run the updates for sp1b. Load it, everything looks normal now. Click on the FMC and it says airac out of date, so I just go ahead and install the lastest airac since I have credits still. So I decide to just do a point to point flight from ksea to kgeg. I align the irs to my position on 34r ksea, looks good, go to input kgeg into DEST, INVALID ENTRY. HUH? So I try kpdx, same thing, INVALID ENTRY. Now Im confused because it clearly shows the lastest airac right there in the FMC (AIRAC-1113).Ok, so now I try a generated route from FSC9, which also has the latest airac data. I make the route, simple, ksea to kpdx, no waypoint, nothing, just straight to Portland from Seattle. Great, the FMC loads it. Get in the air and notice its not following the route. Its just flying some random path. I try another generated route and same thing. And still cannot load a DESTINATION airport manually into the FMC without the dreaded INVALID ENTRY.Anyone have any clues to what might be going on? I have not had a single prob with the NGX since release day until just now, other than the occasional ctd which is an fsx issue. The " nav data out of date " is ok for the latest cycle. There is a problem because of the year change.......2011-2012PMDG are aware of this problem and have fixed it for the next update.You can just clear the message and continue as normal.I have tried your KSEA to KGEG entries and have no problem." Yes on the Position...As I start the sim sitting on 34R, I just enter ksea into the POS INIT. Then I continue with the rest of the fmc setup. I reinstalled the original executable and everything is fine again, with the exception of the "nav data out of date" message that you so kindly explained to me. I will update to sp1b again and see what happens. Who knows, I very well could have not done something right. Ive been SICK SICK for 7 days now, and trying to do this with little sleep and constant hacking from my lungs, doesnt make for a very clear mind.Ive read many of your posts and I know that you are very knowledable in this area. Thank you Fred. Yep, the nav data is good to go now. Also upon re-install of sp1b everything is working as expected thus far. Kinda perplexed as to what I may have done wrong the first time. :( Now on to my health. I had this same illness exact time last new years. I get sinus infections every year after a cold, and every couple years it turns into bronchial probs. Grrrrrrr.......
