ATC FS 2002

Featured Replies

How long does it take AI traffic to exit the runway.I keep hearing "%$#$$% turn right next taxi way" or "%^%$# exit runway when able". This seems to go on forever and ever while im lined up behind other AI traffic burning up fuel. It took a Delta MD83 9 minutes to get off the runway after many of these messages. This isnt real by any means. Is this a FS2002 bug? Can it be fixed. Any help would be appreciated.Jim

1. All of your terminal parking spaces may have been filled in which case the exiting MD was slow to exit the runway, particularly if the taxiways were backed up, and the rest of the approaching aircraft did go-arounds causing more congestion when returning.2. For FS2K2 there is a utility called Taxispeed that allows you to set taxi speed for different manuevers of ground moving aircraft. This is a common complaint with FS2K2.If you have a favorite airport, I suggest downloading scenery for it with added gates and then getting AFCAD and downloading or designing AI gates to add to the basic defaults. One of the better features in FS9 is the enabling of parallel runway operations, easier assignment and creation of particular types and airline classifications to specific gates with AFCAD2 - no layers or radius methods required. It is also claimed to have a faster taxi speed. The previous mentioned Taxispeed utility is for FS2K2 only. However, in FS2K2, also take a look at your traffic percent slider to ease congestion.Do a thread search here for much more info.
