February 17, 200422 yr Anyone using the new Victor Teluffs Avionic Radar Device (AI Radar)? Please take a look here and get your copy. It is freeware but needs a registered FSUIPC copy. I've sent a mail to the authors suggesting to request a freeware key to Peter.http://www.teluff.com/vtar/Please post your comments.Thanks.

Two issues immediately came up:1) It is "locked" to a specific airport in a config. file. You have to hand edit the file to change area of coverage, which is a PITA if you are using it for "flying..." :(2) There is a "pop-up window" for "communications" which remains on top of all windows, which is useless for "solo" (i.e., non-networked) flying. It is a perfect ap for those who're working as a ground based controller, but useless for sim-pilots. That should be made clear in the program's description. Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
February 17, 200422 yr Hi there,You can change to any airport you want by pressing F2 and type the desired airport ICAO code (The desired airport must has an entry in the airport.xml). See author's site, it is very easy. You can hide the communication window by pression F5.I think for who like to spotter AI traffic it is better than TrafficLook by Peter Downson.Regards,

That should have been included in the "readme.txt" file, instead of being only on the author's website... :)OTOH, "AI-Tactical Display" that worked in FS2k2 is superior, since it will automatically "follow" your a/c and adjust the AI coverage in a X-Radius "bubble" around you... :) Fr. Sadly it not work in FS2004 :(We have very few options and I think the AI Radar have great potential to grow and turn itself a great AI utility.
February 18, 200422 yr Bill, FYI the AI "radar" will come with the AI SDK (whenever it gets off the MS legal department's desk). The one in FS02 was an MS tool that someone snagged and took credit for, needless to say this person is no longer on the FS beta team :-)Cheers Bill :-wavehttp://fsgateway.com/frank/fs9paibeta.jpg
