January 4, 201214 yr Hi, looking for a Q9650. Did a search and found them to be pricey still. Anyone know where to find on at a cheap price? Greg Moore KFMH https://forum.pmdg.com/filedata/fetch?id=127275&d=1622041469&type=thumb
January 4, 201214 yr Pricegrabber?Heck, you can get a much better performing 2500K for almost $200 less!Cheers,- jahman.
January 4, 201214 yr Greg, I thought we covered this?! The Q9550 and Q9650's prices are going to stay that way for a good, long while. Not only will you barely see a performance increase (actually none at all) you could buy a Z68 motherboard, DDR3 RAM, and a 2500k processor for about the same as a Q9650.Please reconsider your position on throwing your money at an antique. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules

How much ram would i need to run FSX?Any dual channel 1.5v DDR3 kit will suit your needs. Preferably 1600MHz but 1333MHz is acceptable. 4-8GB. For instance for about $370 I threw together a budget system:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820220570http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157279http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115072 ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules

January 4, 201214 yr Nice. How does it run FSX? I also have FS2004.It will run FSX nicely with the NGX and scenery. FS2004 will either be retired for you on this system, or be shamed. Either way, it's a good PC.What's your current hardware, Greg? PSU, case, HDD, video card? ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
January 5, 201214 yr Author PSU is a 850 watt, 460 GTX card, 500 gb HD and a BIG case(don't remember how made it.) I bought the rig from Cyberpower 3 years ago(never again) and had 2 MB,s die on it. It is in the shop now and hope to hear today why it shuts down. I will upgrade to i5 2400 set up if my CPU is going.
