February 18, 200422 yr Greetings.A Pentium IV at 3.2 Ghz, 1G of RAM and a 5900 Ulra Video Card still needs to do the following to minimize blurry textures and red square pop-ups and even after that, FS9 still underperforms?1) Change Terrain Section-TERRAIN_DEFAULT_RADIUS:9.500000 TERRAIN_EXTENDED_RADIUS: 4.500000 2) Reduce FPS3) Increase FPS to unlimited (MegaScenery)4) Use latest driver5) AA = 4x. AF=8x6) etc...Why can't be disable the ability for MS to use the lower mip-maps? In return MS would lower FPS but it appears to me that FPS is meaningless in FS9 versus in FS2000.What machine spec did MS use to test FS9 and not have blurry or Red Square Pop-ups?Is it safe to say that WE ALL Experience Blurry Textures and Red Pop-ups when flying a 737 or 777?TPPC Specs:Pentium IV 3.2 GHz, 1 G of Memory, 5900 Ultra 256 Video Card using 53.03 DriverFS9 Additions:PMDG 737ULTIMATE TRAFFICLAGO HONOLULUSIMFLYERS KLAXMEGASCENERY SO. February 18, 200422 yr Commercial Member Hi, Set your TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT in your fs9.cfg higher to the default value, test with 400In my case, I have seen less dynamic blurry in fs2004 then fs2002 intensity and I have seen this confirmation from others. I don`t have Mega scenery. What is the TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT parameter in the [DISPLAY] section? This setting controls the rate at which textures get transferred to the video hardware. Higher numbers will result in the textures getting to the hardware faster and avoiding "popping" textures when switching view but may increase stutters and require more physical memory on the video card (and some more, not recommended for video card with less than 128Mb). Increasing this setting with a 64Mb video card will cause stutters as the greater memory requirement will use the main system memory via the AGP port - or the slower PCI port - or even worse if the system memory is insufficient it will use the virtual memory on the hard drive with access to the swap file and lots stutters. February 18, 200422 yr ChrisI use the same setting (400) in FS9 and it works fine, scenery appears instantly with no red areas first. Just wondering if there is any way to accomplish this in FS2002?ThanksDavidPS Love your FPS friendly clouds. Many thanks!
February 19, 200422 yr Well I can safely say that with my system I get alot of blurred textures about 10 nm out from everywhere unless I run with 4X Anisotrophic filtering. And thats with =400 in texture bandwidth mind you...Im having a hard time choosing this road, becos with 4X AF on I can not run water in high detail since that causes stutters. So I have to chose wether I want to have nice water and blurry landclass or sharp land and bland looking water lolIts like picking between the plague or the colera with all these graphic settings :(
February 19, 200422 yr Cargomun, you have what amounts to a `low end` system for FS9. Them's the breaks.Allcott
