January 8, 201214 yr Short flight from Melbourne to Adelaide tonight in the NGX800. Great framerates etc but on approach I could not disengage the Auto throttle nor reduce the speed in the MCP window. Autopilot would not disengage either although in the VC it was clearly in the "off" position. Next thing I got was an OOM. Is the panel freeze a symptom of dwindling available memory or is there another explanation?Gerry Edited January 8, 201214 yr by engwerda

January 11, 201214 yr Author Shaun,I have made 7 flights since and no OOMs. I have a dual core 2.66cpu with 4Gb Ram and a 1Gb Nvidia GT230m Card. I am also running REX V2, and FTX SP4 (Australia). Scenery complexity is set to dense. Just so you know what I am working with. It should be snap with what you have. I did the following; set fps to unlimited edited the panel.cfg to get a good view over the nose with the 2D panel ran msconfig from the prompt to shut down all startups except the "microsoft services" Ran Boyote's fsx.cfg fix - great little app that! Must send a donation. downloaded static world weather for greater realism (not heavy REX overcast which does look nice) avoided switching views on short final flew most of the flights with 2d panel switched between VC in flight to 2d using the F10 key. It all seemed to make a difference and the spot view redrew very fast. Before it just stayed as a skeleton frame. I have used this flying into all Australian capitals apart from Perth and so far no OOMs and mine is not a powerful machine as you can see. Would not try with with ORBX's YMML V2 though - should work on yours however.let me know how you get on.Gerry

Rgds, Shaun
