January 9, 201214 yr Hmm...tempting just because it is such an interesting aircraft. I am going to wait for some reviews and experiences.EDIT: After a little researching it seems that the VC is exactly the same as the old Alphasim version, but I could be wrong. If that is true, is this perhaps the same product? Edited January 9, 201214 yr by audiohavoc Shane Gavin

If that is true, is this perhaps the same product? I agree- and we may be wrong-, however, it looks exactly like the Alphasim's which I purchased and I thought it was the worst lost of $$ I made on flight simming. The graphics are so horrible, that I uninstalled it within less than an hour. Yes the a/c has a strong history; however, it has been modelled very, very poorly. Of course, it may not be as good as newer add-ons, but it could have surely been better developed- much better, actually. Edited January 9, 201214 yr by Johnny767
January 9, 201214 yr It probably is just the Alphasim Blackbird!I just went to the Glowing Head web and none of the pages seem to work.Me, I really, really enjoyed flying the Alphasim Blackbird! Quite a thrill to feel the kick of the twin P&W J-58s go into ramjet mode at M1.5, see the sun rise over the western horizon, the awesome speed (M3.45) at FL840, seeing the ETA on the GPS freeze at 3 minutes at TOD, the amazing ground effect of the huge delta wing requiring a negative flare maneuver, etc. etc.Is the model quality that of the PMDG 737 NGX? Of course not! But is it still fun to fly! Absolutely! Here's the famed P&W J-58 on the test-stand at night, spawning 11 shockwave diamonds (modelled in the add-on): Note the Triethyl Borane flashing green for engine light-up, and dumping fuel during take-off accel. The SR-71, my friends, if what the Passion for Flight shoudl be all about! :( : View in as high-res as possible! Flight takes place over Mono Lake, Nevada.Oh, and anyone else "in the need for speed" also check out Xtreme Prototypes X-15-2/3 (with external drop-tanks). Absolutely fantastic!Cheers,- jahman.
