default to "create a flight"?

Featured Replies

How do I default to "create a flight" when I start FS9? I currently default to a saved flight. Thanks,Charlie

Hi.Just set it to CREATE A FLIGHT and exit Flight Sim. It should save it.

>Hi.>>Just set it to CREATE A FLIGHT and exit Flight Sim. It should>save it.How do I "set it"? If I exit my default flight, go to the create a flight screen, and then exit... it still starts up with my default flight (Meigs). And just to clarify... I want the screen we all got before we chose a default flight. The one with "create a flight/choose a flight/flight school/etc etc etc.

I used Ken Salter's FS9Configurator (http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2004util&DLID=36310 ) to change the "showstartupscreen" parameter to 1, then the sim doesn't auto load your default flight. You could also manually edit your FS9.cfg file, or there might even be a checkbox I don't know about somewhere...Best,sg

Sorry. I thought you meant how to set the menu option and stay there.

Open up FS9.cfg and find the line that reads: SHOW_OPENING_SCREEN=0Change the =0 into =1 and save it. Then start up the sim again, the startup screen will be back :)

When I start FS9 it has never autoloaded a flight. If I choose Create a Flight then the next time I start FS, Create a Flight will be highlighted. Same if I start with Select a Flight. I'm assuming that by "autoloading a flight" you mean finding yourself sitting in an aircraft somewhere in the world ready to fly. If this assumption is wrong please ignore this post. :-)David
