Reality 530XP and windows2000. Does it work?

Featured Replies

I was thinking of purchasing the Reality Garmin Flight Line 530XP GPS Simulator for installing it in my various FS9 Aircrafts, until I saw the Systems requirements. It says.. It require Windows XP. But I have windows 2000. Has anyone used this on a Windows 2000? Have you encountered any problems. Please let me know.Thanks.Manny

Don't know how muc this will help, but I have the Flight1 Meridian that includes the Reality 530XP GPS and I use Windows2000. I think you need Windows2000/XP because it actually runs a 16-bit program in the background, and Windows98/ME does not behave well under this situation. I would send an email to RealityXP or goto Simforums.com and check out their help forum. Good luck!

Thanks Kickin...I didn't realize that I already had the Reality Garmin GPS ...(on my Piper Medidian). and that works on my Win 2000Thanks.. You saved me a few bucks.:)

The Garmin in the Meridian only runs with the Meridian. The Reality XP 530XP Garmin can retrofit any aircraft!Hope this helps!PS: yes it runs with Win2K with no pbm. Only thing is that starting with Win2K SP4, because of profound changes to the O.S., you loose the capability to export the active flight plan from the Garmin.PS2: the Meridian default installation is to disable the export flight plan feature (setting in the Meridian INI file). But for those running WinXP, you can reactivate it and have the active flight plan displayed on the Meggitt EHSI!!
