Using AS2012, if I want to just fly VFR circuits or local flying near the depature airfield. Do I have to put anything in the Flight Plan page as it doesn't appear to load any graphics - I normally use DWC and realistic Wx.Glen

You don't need a flight plan. Active Sky, any version I can think of right now, will pick up your location and install the local wx, but you will not be able to get a wx reprot other than a local one (122.00).
