February 26, 200422 yr Hi luca.EZ-landclass 2.0, by Russ Dirks:http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID...04sd&DLID=34196Dick
February 26, 200422 yr Hey, rhumbaflappy, never mind.I found EZ-Landclass in the library, but I don't have Excel at home.I guess I'll give it a try tomorrow at work (ooops!).Yes, during lunch break, I mean!It was very kind of you to provide the fixes.Happy flying, luca
February 26, 200422 yr Hi Holger. The whole world is covered by worldlc.bgl, which means everything in the sim has landclass assigned. Most landclass assignments are value 100 ( water ). The value 100 acts like water, as well as looks like it.FS9 doesn't need default landmasking because everything defaults to land. The LWM watermasking usually only covers the coastal areas. Even larger lakes sometimes only have the coastal areas masked for water. FS2002 is the same.CFS2 needed both land and water masking in the defaults... I think. FS2000 had no LWM water masking.Dick
February 26, 200422 yr Hi rhumbaflappy.A couple of things:First, I've installed your files in a separate folder in the sim, and inside a Scenery folder with no Texture folder, then I activated them in the scenery library, closed the sim and went back only to find the rectangles are still there (the one at Nice, at least - haven't checked in Ireland). So it's either me doing something wrong, or the fix not working.I didn't want to take you so far into this, so do exactly as you please.I realize you gave me a hand, and now I'm asking you for an arm. That's the way we say in Italy when someone helps you and you ask for more!So here I dare, hoping to have an occasion to show you my gratitude. The fact is, an entire town seems to be floating at the coordinates shown in the picture attached.MS has made disasters in the Mediterranean!cheers,lucahttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/64735.jpg
February 26, 200422 yr Hi luca.I think the problem is on your end. The fix works. The BGLs could be added to any folder, as long as there is no corresponding "texture" folder... just like most landclass files.I could not find the last rectangle. It is north of Sicily, right? If you use a top-down screenshot, and slew directly over the rectangle, we'll get the exact location.Dick
February 26, 200422 yr Hi Rhumba.I'm at work right now.I'll try the fixes again tonight.I do have to activate them via scenery layers, right?'Cause I've tried to put them in the Scenery/BASE/Scenery folder as well, but they didn't work.Anyway, I'll get back to you later on, with a top-down view of the last rectangle as well.Hope you can still bare with me.cheers, luca
February 26, 200422 yr No problem, Jim!The sim completely changes its looks with your add-on!Good work should always be recognized. And I'm anxious for the next MR!cheers, luca
February 27, 200422 yr Hi rhumba.I'm back with a couple of pictures of the square just north of Sicily, hoping you can fix it.The news is that your Ireland fix works fine, while the Nice square is still there.I'll leave this up to you. Thanks a lot again.cheers,lucahttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/64875.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/64876.jpg
February 27, 200422 yr Hi luca. That Sicily landclass isn't seem to be part of the default BGLs. And that may also be why the Nice landclass fix doesn't work on your system. You may have some other addon landclass that is causing the Sicily problem.Dick
February 27, 200422 yr Hi rhumba.Strange, 'cause I'm quite sure that both rectangles appear with default scenery as well. I recall trying to deactivate all third-party landclass, and still seeing the "islands". I'll check once again and let you know, hoping you're still willing to bear with me a little while longer! Thanks again.luca
