Technically Minded Sound Guru's please help ! ! !Hi All,I was told a while ago that if I turned down or off my sound hardware acelleration then it would make my Hercules Digifire 7.1 less powerfull, and in turn would take more power from the CPU, thus making FS9 perform poorly,I am confused now as I have just been reading a post that says turn it off, or at least down, anyone in here got any information on this subject please, thank you in advanceSteve,

It has been awhile since I looked at this, but your sound card should be able to handle hardware acceleration with no problems. It should not take anything away from the processor. I believe turning off hardware sound acceleration only needs to be done by those with poor quality sound cards (or onboard sound). Cards like the Digifire (a really nice card btw) and the Audigy 2 are designed to produce better sound without hitting the CPU. Hope this helps.
