WOAI causing a splash screen crash?

Featured Replies

Hi folks,So I decided to reinstall FS9 the other day after about a year. I'd reformatted my computer so I had to download and install WOAI packages again.I ran FS9 and it all worked fine.I then downloaded some freeware scenery and problems began.FS9 would keep freezing at the splash screen with no error messages. It would just refuse to load.So I reinstalled the whole thing and it ran like normal again. I reinstalled my WOAI packages and the same issue occurred again (without installing any other freeware scenery). I deleted the recently installed packages to see if they were the issue and FS9 ran normally again. It seems every time I install WOAI packages, the sim throws a wobbly. But in the years I've done this, this has NEVER happened!Anyone know what's going wrong and how I can rectify it? Thanks in advance

Not ever been an issue for me - are you using the FS9.1 patch?Apart from that I can't see where the problem is. Perhaps check if FSUIPC is up to date?Oh, and sometimes corrupt texture files can cause a CTD in AI planes (as they are loaded automatically). You could go through trial and error to find out the culprit? Perhaps remove blocks of 4 at a time to narrow it down?

Only just got back in to flight simming and Avsim after a year or so - pardon me whilst I find my feet again!
