February 25, 200422 yr Hi everybody,Finally got my fs configured to almost work they way i want it to, but ofcourse there has to be something wrong.Im not sure if anyone can help me with this, but whenever i hit Print Screen to take a screenshot, my pc totally freezes. Nothing responds, the only way to go is to press reset. Donno what could have caused this, iv been doing alot of tweaking, but could someone point me into a direction i should go to start finding the cure?I have a P4 2.56GHz got the latest chipset driver update, have the intel application accelerator, a Geforce 4 Ti4200 card with the latest detonator drivers (53.03) have rivatuner, dont have overclocking enabled rightnow. Got 512 Mb Ram (Ram-bus)If anyone can help please respond! Thanks For your time,Ben Alfoldihttp://www.ab-simulations.com/banners/ben.jpg
February 25, 200422 yr That could be a lot of things, but have you tweaked your swap file/ virtual memory settings? Check to make sure you have a large enough page file and that you have enough disk space to actually support that file. ------------------------- Craig from KBUF
February 25, 200422 yr Are you using COF's default AA, or are you "forcing" it through a tool like Rivatuner? I noticed an odd issue many moons ago with forcing AA...the print screen button wouldn't work at all in full screen mode. It's possible the 53.03 drivers have introduced a new issue. I still run the 3x.xx series of drivers for my 4200... They have proven very reliable and stable and are as fast as later driver sets (or close enough that it doesn't matter). Many of the newer driver sets have introduced code specific to newer Nvidia cards, and very few (if any) bug fixes are reported for older cards... I won't load updates as long as "it ain't broke"-John
February 25, 200422 yr I looked at the virtual memory, i tried setting the deafult settings, but no change, still same error, tried to set it to another drive, also same results. so its not related to the swap file i guess.John, im forcing AA through Rivatuner so i guess it could be related to the new drivers, ill do an experiment to roll back to the 3x.xx drivers and see what happens there. Im not satisfied with the 53.03 anyways, fs is a little instable with them. Thanks for the fast replys guys!Benhttp://www.ab-simulations.com/banners/ben.jpg
February 25, 200422 yr I was unable to roll back the drivers, i first tried installing 30.82 over 53.03 that didnt work, i got an error (line 10) that it couldnt start, so i rolled back to 53.03 all was fine then, then i completly uninstalled 53.03 and installed 30.82 but had the same result, so i reinstalled 53.03Any ideas what im doing wrong?Ben http://www.ab-simulations.com/banners/ben.jpg
