CTD after time change

Featured Replies

Hi, This has been happening for awhile now but just discovered this board. About 90% of the time if after flying awhile and I change just the time I get FSX to shut down. I can change the season, airport, A/C with no problem. Any ideas what could cause this? Like I said it's happened for a while now, ( I don't know what add-on would cause it). I just learned not to do it.Thanks!

Anytime you get a CTD with FSX, you need to provide us with the error info in the Event Viewer. I will try to replicate but don't believe changing the time (even the season) after a flight has started is not as real as it gets. What would be the purpose or advantage of changing just the time? You can get to your Event Viewer by clicking on the Start button and, in the search box type Event then look up in the menu and you should see a link to Event Viewer. Once open, look at Custom Views>Administrative Events and look for an event that occurred around the time of the CTD. Look for a faulting module.Best regards,Jim

I changed the time forward and backwards several times and could not replicate. I have a feeling you are having issues with a lack of sufficient resources. Are you running FSX on a 32 bit system or 64 bit? What OS are you using?Best regards,Jim

Thanks for the reply, I'll take a look for the event. I do this mainly when I set up a flight and then forget to change the time, IE....wanted to land at dusk or night instead of arriving mid day.As far as the OS, it's Win XP
