FS2004 Weather

Featured Replies

Hello everyone;Well, I made the plunge and bought a new computer system last week and outfitted it with the FS2004. So I've now said goodbye to FS2002 and on to (hopefully) better weather and an improved flight sim. With that, here's my question: I noticed that when I set the weather for "real world" weather, it seemed to display the visibility like a "curtain", if you will. In other words, instead of when you're in limited visibility, it being a foggy type appearance, its now like someone placed an electronic curtain out on the horizon. The next thing I noticed was that with real world weather set last night I was on the ILS at Lafayette, LA. and the weather was supposed to be 100 & 1/4. However, I could see the runway all the way from the outer marker and the buildings and all appeared to be all white even when I got close to them. What I'm thinking of is that the default settings on the sliders may need to be adjusted one way or the other. Any suggestions on what I could do to improve this would certainly be appreciated. My new machine is a PIV processer, 2.8 GHZ, 80GB hard drive, 1 GB of RAM and supposed to have the latest and greatest video card (whatever that is). Thanks so much in advance.Baron.

i guess your latest and greatest card is an ati something or other. google "ati tablefog=0".vilk

Make sure you get the latest drivers for your video card (whatever it is). That is something you will want to find out.

Thanks Guys !I hate to be ignorant here, but I'm not really computer savvy. Vilk, the photo on the attachment you referenced is exactly what I'm seeing. How do I get to the cfg to edit the fog like the one that is referenced ?Thanks so much again,Baron.

okstaff meeting overlemme do the google for ya:)searching...searching......searching.........hmmm... got one in german (again) and one in czech. take your pick...http://www.ewgva.de/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=286http://business.highinthesky.cz/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=694basically, just add a line that says "tablefog=0" in your display.cfg file, in the section corresponding to your video card. (sorry, but you may need to know more about your video card, not just that it's the "latest and greatest", can't help you on this one... :))let me know how it went.vilk

Got it !Thanks again. I just tried it with real weather (which was 4 nm) and it was really accurate. No curtains or white buildings. I checked, and I've got a ATI Radeon 9200 128mb video card.Hope that's going to be enough. Thanks again,Baron.
