January 25, 201214 yr I'll ask this as more of a generic question. The problem is, very recently, that I get a CTD (white screen lockup) during loading FSX anytime my aircraft is in the Seattle - Portland area. The progress bar slows then stops around 50% loaded and never gets beyond that. I can load the startup screen and choose any alternate area and fly completely normally. I'm guessing it is a damaged or missing .BGL file or whatever file is being loaded at the 50% point on the progress bar. I have deleted fsx.cfg and let it rebuild that. I have changed aircraft to default with no luck. FSX loads and runs completly normally anywhere else on the globe with any aircraft I choose. Since both Seattle and Portland (and a few other airports in that area) are unable to load, I suspect a larger area .bgl file but don't have any way to determine which one to replace. So, to troubleshoot this, is there any "map" of the location of .bgl files that would indicate which file might be suspect? I would expect to be able to reload the file from the original install discs. I really do NOT want to reinstall FSX from scratch as it would take me forever to bring it back to the current state of trim.Win7 64Intel Core2 Quad 3.21GHz 8GB RAMnVidia 570 w/ 1.2MB RAM1TB HD with plenty of room and no other problems i7-4790K o/c @ 4.8 GHz, Corsair H-110 liquid cooler, 32 GB Corsair Vengeance RAM, MSI Maximus VII Hero mobo Samsung Pro 512 GB SSD Corsair GFX Hydro GTX-1080 8 GB, (2) 4TB hybrid HDs Win 10 (1607), X-Plane 10.51r2 and X-Plane 11.01b1
January 25, 201214 yr Did you update PNW to the patches 004 and 004a? Do you have the latest Orbx Library installed? The PNW patches fixed a lot of 'issues' with PNW. You can possibly do a 'repair' of PNW by clicking on the original install application and reinstalling it (you may be offered options to repair or uninstall, select repair). Make sure you reinstall patch 004 and 004a in the same manner and the latest Orbx Library. Trying to find out if you have a missing file would be very, very difficult as my installation shows there are over 19,000 files in 50 folders.... (that includes CRM and NRM too). You might want to check the Windows Event Viewer and see if there was an error report generated when you got the 'white screen lockup'. Perhaps there's something wrong with your computer.Best regards,Jim Edited January 25, 201214 yr by firehawk44
