January 27, 201214 yr Hi allI have very recently installed FS9 on a new PC running Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit version with 4 Gb of RAM and an NVidia GTX560 Ti card. I have set Windows to give me full permissions to the folders where FS9 is installed and also where flights are saved to. Also, I use Windows 7 as the administrator and I am flying the Flight 1 C172 Skyhawk.Having completed a flight I park in a suitable area and shut the aircraft down to the point of a cold and dark cockpit. I then save the flight. The date and time stamps of the .FT and .WX files are updated accordingly. However, if I exit FS9, re-load it and select my saved flight instead of having a cold and dark cockpit the aircraft has all systems and the engine running. Also, I am not where I parked up but at one of the default FS9 startup positions for that particular airport – for example, at the threshold of Runway 23. It seems that none of the flight parameters are being saved although, as I have said, the date and time stamps of the two relevant files are being updated. This problem also exists if I fly the default C172.I did not have this problem on my previous PC which was also running Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit version so am at a complete loss now as to what is happening. If anyone has any ideas I could try then I shall be very grateful. Many thanks.David

January 27, 201214 yr Author Hi PatrickMany thanks for your speedy reply.Forgot to mention that !! But, yes, I have ticked the "Make this the default flight" box.David
January 27, 201214 yr Author HiWell, it's a new day here now and I've done some further testing. What I have previously been doing is pressing the Esc key after I had finished my flight and then selecting the Save Flight option from the menu system. I checked to make sure that the .FLT and .WX files were not set to read only but still the problem continued. Then I had another idea. Once I had finished my flight I immediately pressed the ; key, which is the default keyboard assignment to save a flight, gave the flight a name and set it as the default flight. After that I exited from FS9 in the usual manner. When I fired everything up again and selected my previosuly saved flight everything worked OK and I was at my parked position with a cold and dark cockpit. So why pressing the ; key works and the other way does not is a mystery which I have never come across before, but at least I have things working properly.Just thought you'd like to know what the solution was.David Edited January 27, 201214 yr by vector
