Anyone using a Dell 3007 WFPHC 30"

Featured Replies

Hi guys, I'm just in the throws of buying a used Dell 3007WFPHC 30" LCD, it runs at the native 2550x1600 which is what I'm after and a response time of 11ms. I was hoping someone who already owns one could offer an opinion for it's use with FSX. Help as always, appreciated, cheers.

I have been using the Dell 3007WFP monitor for years (the 'HC' at the end is a newer version of the monitor and came out almost immediately after I bought my the WFP). The native resolution is 2560x1600 (not 2550 as you stated - think that was a typo). The monitor is absolutely awesome especially when using FSX. It's expensive though, even used but definitely an alternative to multi-monitors. I have mine connected to my one GTX580 on one DVI port and I have the Dell Alienware AW2310 23" monitor that is used for 3D Vision connected on the other DVI port. I can use both monitors for FSX if I fly in Windowed Mode. If full screen, the 3D monitor will go dark. But, the view you receive from a 30" monitor is stunning not only with FSX but also surfing the Internet. It's another world. You'll receive some FPS hit with a higher resolution but it doesn't bother my joy of FSX. A cheaper alternative (know you didn't ask this) would be getting a 42" HDTV. The picture quality would suffer though but I have heard others who enjoy that option.Best regards,Jim

Hi Jim,Sure, the larger TV's don't interest me, it's the qualiy that I'm interested in. I see you have got virtually the same set up as me. Losing frames is of great importance to me, but I think the 30" Dell would be a good choice.
