Ok my problem with FSX is that after like hour or so on flight when I put my FSX window back up after surfing web with my browser and other actions during flight textures load very slowly. It takes many minutes from ground textures to get accurate from total blurriness, and with all aircrafts also it takes long time from textures to show up again. Like said I have no problem at start of FSX session, only during later phases of flight when FSX has been running for long time already. This happens both in areas with default scenery and areas with addon scenery. I used FSX just same way with my old system with no problem, and my current system is way better than that one... Any idea how to get textures load faster?My systems specs: Windows 7 home, I7 2600k, Radeon 6990 and 8GB RAM.Also when changing view rapidly when textures not loaded fully I get sometimes crash to desktop with typical ntdll error report. Just a little update, I purhaced FSPS FSX Booster and used it to tweak my settings, and seems that now textures do load and stay much better although still little slow sometimes.I guess that also old FS9 AI traffic could cause some performance hit with texture loading... Maybe switching to Mytraffic X would be good idea has it has dds textures I think...

Any AI program is going to slow down texture loading. I have MTX and FSX was starting up superfast until I installed MTX. Turn down your AI level from 100% to no more than 50%. For eye-candy, you should also activate auto traffic to no more than 10%. Otherwise, cannot see what is dragging down texture loading. Have you tried saving or renaming your fsx.cfg, then restarting FSX and rebuilding the FSX.cfg? If it doesn't speed things up, then you can bring back the one you saved or renamed.

when changing view rapidly when textures not loaded fully I get sometimes crash to desktop with typical ntdll error report

The ntdll.dll ctd indicates to me your sliders are set too high or there is something wrong with your installed memory settings in the bios. Based on your published fsx.cfg, I don't see where your settings are too high except with the AI. Make sure your frequency, voltage, and timing settings for your memory are correct in the BIOS. In addition, make sure you have the latest Microsoft.net installed by running the Windows update program. Microsoft.net software, as one of its many functions, manages memory for your running software programs. You also want to make sure you have the all of the Microsoft Visuals C++ Redistributables from 2005 to 2010 installed (look in the Add/Remove Programs).Best regards,Jim

Ok my problem with FSX is that after like hour or so on flight when I put my FSX window back up after surfing web with my browser and other actions during flight textures load very slowly

What's probably happening is that the RAM requirements (PC and video card) all the other activity (that you shouldn't be doing while simming, BTW) are forcing FSX memory to be written put to the paging file. When you switch back to FSX, that RAM needs to be re-read into physical ram and re-sent to the video card (currebnt GPU's do not yet allow virtualization -sharing- of VRAM.) Also what can be happening is FSX is falling behind in loading scenery, so when you switch back to full-screen FSX there would be a noticeable delay in reading-in the additional scenery to the required LOD.You do realize FSX stretches even today's most powerful CPUs to the limit, so even "simple" browsing (can reach several hundred MBy for a single page) can wreak havoc with FSX.Cheers,- jahman.

Ok, I will try that too. For now I disabled autogen as I am flying with Tileproxy most of day time anyway. It seems that texture loading problem happens mostly with addons that use old kind of texture format (one that works on FS9 too, I dont remember name), they seem to load very slowly when DDS ones such as Captain sim 707 and now mytraffic AI load very well and cause no too much impact on FPS. Actually it seems that I get better FPS with CS 707 than Wilco 737 although first one is in much higher detail.But yeah could be also just that I have higher graphics settings on this one than on my old computer where non DDS textures loaded better. And yes I did remove fsx.cfg completely and then created & tweaked it again with FSPS Booster.Right now flying with CS 707 + Tileproxy + Active Sky Advanced and Mytraffic AI running, textures not disappearing on my aircraft and when switching to AI view just takes like one second to load.
