VNAV Disconnect

Featured Replies

HelloFor some unknown reason to me, when in stable cruise flight with the 737NGX and CMD on, LNAV and VNAV PTH annunciated and active, the AFDS suddenly disconnects VNAV and reverts to CWS P? I cannot re-engage VNAV without having to disconnect CMD. I have completed flights in VNAV and LNAV modes without incident many times however occassionaly this sudden (and random occurances) of VNAV disconnect happens. I am using the Eclipse flight yoke by CH Products. Is it possible my flight yoke is causing this random problem???John

Are you getting VNAV disconnect FMS message? If so, I don't think it would be a yoke issue. If it was a yoke issue, it would go from VNAV to CWS without any message.Any messages prior to the disconnect?

Could be that the yoke somehow changes trim...? That sometimes is the cause of the AP turning off. Although you only talk about VNAV... Anyway, make sure the yoke doesn't change trim unnoticed (if that yoke can change trim at all...).

I recall getting a VNAV Disconnect message on the FMS before....

I will delete the joystick assignments for trim and see what happens....thanks!
