March 3, 200422 yr Wondering how you manage a smooth transition from AT to manual throttle. I have no problem with disconnecting the GS on short final--the trim and descent rate is set and as long as my joystick is centered there is no problem. However, when I disconnect the AT on short final I never have the manual throttle exactly right, I have to move it up and down a bit to find where it was and that can throw my trim off. Thoughts?billg
March 3, 200422 yr Bill:What I do is switch off the auto throttle before I cut off the autopilot. That way I can adjust my throttle lever and get it set up while the AP still has control of the approach. Once I have the throttle positioned for constant speed I can cut off the AP whenever I want.Try it.maxsdad
March 3, 200422 yr I do the same as the above. I know roughly where to set my throttle, disengage the AT, the tweak the throttle a little for it to register manual inputs.About as good as you'll get I think!
