March 3, 200422 yr Hello All,I am looking for opinions on Fscene2004. I was a very satisfied owner of the textures for FS2002, as I found the default ones lacking. However MS has improved the textures to a reasonable standard in FS9, so I am wondering if it is worth to spend the rather considerable sum to upgrade.I have looked at the screenshots and cannot see enough justification to buy. Any opinions????Paul ( SPIM )
March 3, 200422 yr Hi, I bought the FS9 updates for the FS2002 textures instead of the "native" FS2004 textures.http://secure.simmarket.com/product_info.p...products_id=535http://secure.simmarket.com/product_info.p...products_id=534I reasonable way I think - as the new textures are no option for me. March 3, 200422 yr Hi, I think it is expensive so I decided to live without! Emile EBBR Z590 Aorus Elite, i9-11900K 3.5Ghz Nvidia RTX 5070, 32 GB Mem, SSD 3 Tera , 3 monitors Win11 Pro X64 LM P3D V6.1 Little Nav Map Hifisim Nvidia 591.44
March 3, 200422 yr Well worth the money IMO (disclaimer, I do tech support and beta testing for FScene).Textures are far more vibrant and detailed, something the downsized screenshots indeed don't do full justice.
March 4, 200422 yr I use the freeware textures, they are really good. You can download them at the libraryBruno Francescoli :-waveStudent Pilot.KOPF PA28-161.
March 5, 200422 yr Author Thanks for the replies guys,As I live in Peru, I think I will wait for the full South American seasons, to see if they improve the area. I live in the driest desert on Earth, an extension of the Atacama, and although not too bad in FS9, I am hoping the new textures will really bring it to life. ( excuse the pun ). Also just over the hills ( many over 20 000ft ) there is one of the wettest areas on Earth, the Amazon jungle..and that's just less than 200 miles from here... so lots of different textures within a small area. Thanks for good info.....For Jeroen Wenting... hi, is there any hope you could post a screenshot of the Peruvian Coastal Desert? I know you're a Beta guy for Fscene. Thanks.Paul ( SPIM )
March 5, 200422 yr I'll see if I can get out there this weekend. I do have some of the Andes further north (area between La Paz and Quito) and the Venezuela coast near Caracas over at http://www.fscene.com/jerry/s-america/index.html for now.
March 5, 200422 yr Author Hey..the area between La Paz and Quito is PERU.... great!Check out an airport called Ayacucho SPHO or Anta SPHZ for some good shots in the hills. For some coastal shots, well SPIM ( LIMA..my place ) or Trujillo. And of course a visit to Arequipa and Cuzco.Looking forward to the shots. There's some great flying to be had in these parts!Paul ( SPIM )
March 5, 200422 yr Will see about that tomorrow, just about to go to bed (11PM here).I know Chile is nice to fly in. Done Terra del Fuego to Santiago a few times in FS in a variety of aircraft, and Santiago is of course the home of LAN Chile (codeshare partner of the VA I fly for so I visit it relatively frequently) .
March 6, 200422 yr OK, flew SPHO-SPHZ as you suggested.Magnificent scenery indeed, and some dangerous winds for light aircraft :)http://hornet.demon.nl/screenshots/peru/ for the screenshotsAircraft: Dreamfleet Cardinal RGMesh: FSGenesisFScene2004 South America summer
March 6, 200422 yr Author Thanks...Nice shots! All I need is a decent landclass for LIMA.Cheers,Paul.PS I will buy when all seasons are done.
