March 8, 200422 yr The PSS airbus requires that you pull the knobs on the FCU to engage "selected" guidance and push the knobs to engage "managed" guidance. Upon using Eric Marciano's nice A320 panel I found just the opposite. If there are any real A320 pilots out there, what is the actual practice? Thanks!Airbus Al Kaupa Digital Storm purchased 8/17/2011; Win7x64: Asus P8P67 Deluxe; Intel i7 2600K@3,9 GHZ; nVidia GTX 560Ti; 8GB DDR3 1600 Corsair Dominator; Power Corsair HX 750W; Samsung 850 EVO 500GB SSD; 300GB WD VelociRaptor; 1TB Seagate.
March 8, 200422 yr Hey,In the real aircraft pushing the FCU knobs 'gives' control of the Autoflight and/or Autothrust system to the MCDU calculated values. This is called 'managed mode'. Pulling the knob 'takes' control from the MCDU and you enter so called 'selected' mode. That is, the AFS/ATS follow the FCU pilot selected values.Best Regards,Nick LandolfiBlue Ridge Dx
