FS9 Hiccups

Featured Replies

Hi all,I already have this problem for a long time, tried almost everything from bios settings to drivers, couple of new fresh window copies, windows xp, fs9 tweaks. reinstalled fs2004, bought another computer, new monitor 120hz, windows tweaks etc.A small 45mb video because converting it for youtube is not working quite well so this is the best way. It is showing less then in real.I hope someone takes the time to watch.Link: http://www.mediafire...3tj5spltt28626tlook at 29 sec and 34, when turning and at the tower. In the vid it is just showing as a small hiccup, in real it is not 1 small hiccup but 2,3 behind eachother with screen tearing. when turning on vsync the small tearing is disappeared but the same stutters are there. With another AA settings the stutter is maybe more or less frequent but thats not the problem.Maybe it is because my monitor is 120hz and fps are locked at 40, maybe extra frames? Frame limiters are making it worse and other fps locks are also making it worse.60 lock with 60 fps is completely smooth but at aerosoft eham with the ifly 737 my avarage is 42 fps so thats why i locked it at 40fps. But had it with 60hz and 30 fps locked also.I hope someone recognize what the problem is or has some suggestions? All suggestions are welcome :)My specs:I5 2500kAsus maximus gene-zseasonic x660G.skill 8gb 1600mhz CL9MSI 570GTX iii TwinfrozerSamsung S27A950D 120hzFS9.cfg (tried almost all configurations)[GRAPHICS]FULL_SCREEN=1PERFORMANCE_MODE=0DEF_PERF_MODE=7TEXT_SCROLL=1AUTO_LOD=0DETAIL_TEXTURE=1WATER_EFFECTS=2TERRAIN_USE_VECTOR_MAP=1TERRAIN_USE_VECTOR_OBJECTS=1EFFECTS_QUALITY=2GROUND_SHADOWS=0SMOOTH_VIEW=1IMAGE_SMOOTHING=1TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD=1310720COCKPIT_HIGH_LOD=1AIRCRAFT_SHADOWS=0LANDING_LIGHTS=1IMAGE_QUALITY=0TEXTURE_BLDG=1TEXTURE_GND=1TEXTURE_WATER=1AIRCRAFT_TEXTURE=2SEE_SELF=1TEXTURE_QUALITY=3LOD_TARGET_FPS=28NUM_LIGHTS=8[REALISM]INDASPD=0PFactor=1.000000Torque=1.000000GyroEffect=1.000000CrashTolerance=1.000000General=1.000000UnlimitedFuel=FalseTrueAirspeed=FalseAutoCoord=TrueRealMixture=TrueStressDamage=TrueGEffect=TrueManualLights=TrueGyroDrift=TrueCrashWithDyn=TrueCrashDetection=1[CONTROLS]KBDAIL=64KBDELEV=64KBDRUD=64PAN_RATE=900[uSERINTERFACE]MAP_ORIENTATION=2PAUSE_ON_LOST_FOCUS=0PROMPT_ON_EXIT=1PageID=3OpenATCOnCreate=0SITUATION=C:UsersEefDocumentsFlight Simulator Files1SelectFlightLevel=0SelectFlightTitle=0DisplayFuelAsWeight=0[sOUND]SOUND=1SOUND_FADER1=0.510000SOUND_FADER2=0.000000SOUND_FADER3=1.000000SOUND_FADER4=0.000000SOUND_FADER5=0.800000SOUND_FADER6=0.000000SOUND_QUALITY=2Channels=4SamplesPerSec=44100BitsPerSample=16[DISPLAY.Device.NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570.0]Mode=1920x1080x32MipBias=5TriLinear=1PanelAsTexture=0[DISPLAY]UPPER_FRAMERATE_LIMIT=40TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=8000TextureMaxLoad=9RUNWAY_LIGHTS_SURFACE_SCALAR=1.32RUNWAY_LIGHTS_VASI_SCALAR=1.40RUNWAY_LIGHTS_APPROACH_SCALAR=1.08RUNWAY_LIGHTS_STROBE_SCALAR=1.25[TERRAIN]TERRAIN_ERROR_FACTOR=100.000000TERRAIN_MIN_DEM_AREA=20.000000TERRAIN_MAX_DEM_AREA=100.000000TERRAIN_MAX_VERTEX_LEVEL=21TERRAIN_TEXTURE_SIZE_EXP=8TERRAIN_AUTOGEN_DENSITY=5TERRAIN_USE_GRADIENT_MAP=1TERRAIN_EXTENDED_TEXTURES=1TERRAIN_DEFAULT_RADIUS=4TERRAIN_EXTENDED_RADIUS=4TERRAIN_EXTENDED_LEVELS=4nvidia inspector:nvidiainspector.pngSorry for my poor english.

Dont know about your stutters but I can see a few errors in your cfg. Also your TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=8000 seems way too high.I also noticed you have some features switched off, eg shadows. With your specs you should have everything maxed and your PC will not break a sweat. The GPU on my test machine is the 580TI, best drivers I have found are the 285.62 WHQLRegarding your Nvidia inspector settings, have a look at Ryans sticky post on the main PMDG forum. Below are a few changes I would make to your cfg, if it was mine I would have changed a lot more.[GRAPHICS]FULL_SCREEN=1PERFORMANCE_MODE=0DEF_PERF_MODE=7TEXT_SCROLL=1AUTO_LOD=0DETAIL_TEXTURE=1WATER_EFFECTS=2TERRAIN_USE_VECTOR_MAP=1TERRAIN_USE_VECTOR_OBJECTS=1EFFECTS_QUALITY=2GROUND_SHADOWS=0SMOOTH_VIEW=1IMAGE_SMOOTHING=1TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD=1024COCKPIT_HIGH_LOD=1AIRCRAFT_SHADOWS=0LANDING_LIGHTS=1IMAGE_QUALITY=0TEXTURE_BLDG=1TEXTURE_GND=1TEXTURE_WATER=1AIRCRAFT_TEXTURE=2SEE_SELF=1TEXTURE_QUALITY=3LOD_TARGET_FPS=17NUM_LIGHTS=8[REALISM]INDASPD=0PFactor=1.000000Torque=1.000000GyroEffect=1.000000CrashTolerance=1.000000General=1.000000UnlimitedFuel=FalseTrueAirspeed=FalseAutoCoord=TrueRealMixture=TrueStressDamage=TrueGEffect=TrueManualLights=TrueGyroDrift=TrueCrashWithDyn=TrueCrashDetection=1[CONTROLS]KBDAIL=64KBDELEV=64KBDRUD=64PAN_RATE=900[uSERINTERFACE]MAP_ORIENTATION=2PAUSE_ON_LOST_FOCUS=0PROMPT_ON_EXIT=1PageID=3OpenATCOnCreate=0SITUATION=C:UsersEefDocumentsFlight Simulator Files1SelectFlightLevel=0SelectFlightTitle=0DisplayFuelAsWeight=0[sOUND]SOUND=1SOUND_FADER1=0.510000SOUND_FADER2=0.000000SOUND_FADER3=1.000000SOUND_FADER4=0.000000SOUND_FADER5=0.800000SOUND_FADER6=0.000000SOUND_QUALITY=2Channels=4SamplesPerSec=44100BitsPerSample=16[DISPLAY.Device.NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570.0]Mode=1920x1080x32MipBias=5TriLinear=1PanelAsTexture=0[DISPLAY]UPPER_FRAMERATE_LIMIT=40TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=8000TextureMaxLoad=9RUNWAY_LIGHTS_SURFACE_SCALAR=1.32RUNWAY_LIGHTS_VASI_SCALAR=1.40RUNWAY_LIGHTS_APPROACH_SCALAR=1.08RUNWAY_LIGHTS_STROBE_SCALAR=1.25[TERRAIN]TERRAIN_ERROR_FACTOR=100.000000TERRAIN_MIN_DEM_AREA=20.000000TERRAIN_MAX_DEM_AREA=100.000000TERRAIN_MAX_VERTEX_LEVEL=21TERRAIN_TEXTURE_SIZE_EXP=8TERRAIN_AUTOGEN_DENSITY=5TERRAIN_USE_GRADIENT_MAP=1TERRAIN_EXTENDED_TEXTURES=1TERRAIN_DEFAULT_RADIUS=9.500000TERRAIN_EXTENDED_RADIUS=9.000000TERRAIN_EXTENDED_LEVELS=4

I don't realy see anything to complain about in the movie...Do you have FSUIPC activated fro Autosave? If so, Uncheck AutoSave on the AutoSave/GPSout Tab

thanks for the replies, I do have fsuipc installed but the problem also exists without fsuipc. The strange thing is that in the video, also because of the rendering the issues is hard to recongize. But it looks like a hiccup like the system has to instant load something and gets multiply frames and hasitate. then it runs a couple of seconds ok and than again the loading.I think it also has something to do with my fps lock and the 120hz monitor. Can someone suggest a setting for a frame lock?@flex1978, I will change the settings. I do have the 285.62 driver installed on my xp installation and fs runs a little bit better. What other settings would you change? e.g. Mult?
