How to test my results and compare.

Featured Replies

Hey guys, heres the deal. I think i just got my sim running smooth after a lot of tweaking and i have a few questions. 1. If Im using an external fps limiter should it lock the frames at ie 30 and not move? I get a lot of oscillations from the 20s to the 30s and 40s sometimes. Is this normal?2. Is there a specific situation i can load or fly so i can compare results to the different tweak i will change in my cfg? I use leveld and also have the ngx. I want to try playing with the bufferpools but i don't see difference when i do different pool sizes. Rt is what got my sim smooth from all the insane and horrible stuttering and artifacts.3. My friend is lending me his gtx580 so i can try it and see the difference on how the sim runs. Anyone have any tips or suggestions on what should i focus on when comparing? My current addons are: utx usa and Canada(nickn setup). Active sky 2012, global x 2010 scenery, leveld ngx pic 737-100, and carenados malibu baron and the 208.Cheers and thank you in advance. DashA FPS limiter sets the upper limit ONLY of FPS, so if set correctly at say 30 it should not rise significantly above 30, but of course it can fall below 30 eg 20 in heavy add-on areas. If it is constantly at 40 there could be a problem but you could spike intermittently to higher than 30, it just means the processor/gpu reacts faster than the limiter at any given point in time.If you are using vsync which sets your upper limit to the refresh rate of your monitor usually 60 fps, then that can interact with a frame rate limiter set lower than 60 fps. That 69xx card looks great so it will be interesting to see if you get any performance/image quality difference with the 580?RegardsPeterH

Yeah usually when i use bojotes limiter it spikes to like 31 or 32 fps sometimes. When i have a chance ill set up my D90 on the tripod and make a video of my sim and upload it to see what ppl think of my performance. I've unlocked my card to the 6970 shaders and even upped the speeds but don't notice anything really. Thanks for your response. Sent from my SGH-I727R using Tapatalk
