Im sipping coffee looking at all this entertainment.
  2. What are your specs and what addons are you using there?
  3. Overclock your CPU. And what is your video card?
  4. Awesome. I fly in there every week!
  5. Would you mind posting a shot of your settings?
  6. Anyone have any youtube videos of this display in action from an outside view? It would be awesome to watch.
  7. I tried running it on my system using the PMDG B777 at flytampa CYYZ and it OOM on the ground while panning outside. 4790K at 4.8Ghz HT on! GTX 980. AF=244 FFTF=0.01 ASN Flytampa CYYZ REX4 textures Rob Ainscough Medium settings. 2560x1440 single screen. I didn't even bother counting the FPS because getting the OOM was extremely annoying so I stopped and went back to FSX until this ends for good(new platform or some major real improvements) It's 2015 and still we cannot use the full potential of our hardware as other games can. When I have a lot of time to spare perhaps I will go back and try it again. cheers
  8. We have a saying in latin america, or Cuba which is where I'm from, that says "not everything that shines is gold" I installed FSXSE a week or so ago, started putting in my addons which aren't many. PMDG, ORBX global and vector, Carenado planes, FSXglobal, LevelD, FSDT CYVR, ASN, REX4 textures. And I can't remember after which addon or why, FSXSE would instantly crash before even loading the main screen. I didn't think twice and went back to my Boxed edition which i have as ISOs in my PC. This was after a fresh install of Windows. I don't know why or how but it didn't wow me. FSX hasn't wow'd me either since ive been running at 1440p and it sucks on the performance even after upgrading to a GTX980. Now P3D decided to give me OOM after 4 mins of loading MJC Q400 at Flytampa's CYYZ, when FSX never has( i dont overload it with addons). All in all this flight simming FPS business is very frustrating, but then again I get to fly Jetstream 31/32s in RL so i can't complain. It would still be nice to have a liquid smooth sim like DCS, i mean it's 2015. Kudos to all who have a decent running sim. It sure is a beauty of a hobby
  9. how did you get FSDT CYVR to install in P3Dv2.5?
  10. listen to this guy!! he has a very valid point. The MB might be pumping unnecessary voltage to your 4.6GHz overclock.
  11. Is your cpu overclocked? You may as well clock that beast to 4.8 if you have a good cooler.
  12. +1 It's ridiculous isnt it? Makes me wonder what am I still doing around these forums.
  13. That is one pricey product. Are you planning on buying it?
  14. So if I am doing a clean install in the near future, this is the sim to get? as opposed to the boxed version? Can anyone comment on ORBX products, Majestic Q400, Carenado? Thanks
  15. What vcore are you running? Cache freq and volt. And input voltage? Does it run fsx good? I just upgraded to a 4790k and it seems like a good oc. Havent installed fsx yet im waiting to delid and get my temps down under load at 4.8ghz 1.30vcore
  16. that makes two of us. to the OP. Have you read Haswell overclocking guides? As some members already said there are a lot of other settings that need to be configured. Also if your ram is rated for 1600 then set it at 1600, find your stable overclock and then go back and try overclocking the ram which also needs testing with Memtest+. I got my 4790k vietnam batch to 4.8Ghz 1.30 volts stable using XTU and Realbench. I do not use Prime anymore as it gets too hot. Im going to be delidding in the next couple of weeks so i can push for 4.9 or 5.0ghz. Lets see what this baby can do. check out these two guides: http://www.overclock.net/t/1411077/haswell-overclocking-guide-with-statistics http://www.overclock.net/t/1401976/the-gigabyte-z87-haswell-overclocking-oc-guide
  17. get a 4790K i7 from Malaysia or Vietnam batches. Then get a 970. I got a 4790k but im still in the process of squeezing the max out of it, planning on de-lidding it as soon as i get some supplies in. Then im going to install FSX and P3D. I'm running a GTX 770 SC 2GB which will be maxed out due to my 1440p resolution. As for the brand, getting Zotac just because of lifetime warranty isn't the best imo. I would go for a G1 like everyone has suggested or a EVGA. You will be most likely upgrading again in 3 years anyhow. Good luck
  18. Now you're talking! Killer system, you're set for a few years I'd say. Im waiting for my Z97-A and 4790K so I upgrade(my 2500K died), my 2GB GTX 770 is going to set me back as I run 1440p tho. Good luck! +1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you!
  19. 16gb ram is overkill for fsx build. Get an nvidia like everyone says. What resolution are you running? I have a gtx770 2gb running 1440p and its not enough. I wish i had known about vram before i went for the 770. So yeah, get 8gb 1866 CAS9 and a gtx 970(gigabyte gaming g1 is the fastest ive read)
  20. Thats a killer bundle if you asked me. King cpu with a great motherboard. Asus makes awesome products. The ram yes its a bit on the slow side but if the timmings are tight then it could be better than some ddr3 2133mhz even. Can you post the link to the bundle?
  21. I would consider getting a K series cpu and a new mobo. Z87 or a Z97. Otherwise good luck. It doesnt look like your components are the ones an overclocker would have.
  22. No. A couple of my friends do. One on mainline ramp(instructs on the side) and the other FO for encore. Do you fly for them? I work out of YSM.
