Missing textures in Hawaii??

Featured Replies

Has anyone ever noticed this on the island of Oahu? I am using FSGenesis mesh and landclass, but I'm not sure if that's the problem or not, as I never flew over this area before.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/67040.jpg

Wow...even ignoring the missing textures...I don't know about that landclass...makes the green tropical peaks of Hawaii look like the Rockies with granite tops...!!??Sure isn't the Hawaii I can see from my lanai tonight...look forward to Justin fixing that.

Yea, I tried putting the TERRAIN USE GRADIENT MAP=1 to =0 in the FS9.cfg, but unfortunately I've been told that MS forgot to enable it, so it doesn't work at all! So I'm really not sure if there's any way to fix the "rocky" look. Anyone care to add?

Hi Marcus,Until MS enables that gradient switch there's nothing that can be done about the rocky cliffs. It's hard-coded.You might be able to track down the texture that's showing on the gradients and change it to something besides rock, but any change you make using this method will be global and will probably look out of place anywhere but in Hawaii.-------Justinhttp://www.fsgenesis.netHigh Quality Scenery for FS200x

Thanks Justin! Just wanted to make sure I didn't miss anything. Maybe they'll fix that in FS2006? We can only hope...
