Understanding AVSIM Position?

Featured Replies

Not much to say, did the MS Flight sim and was not impressed! I understand that AVSIM is trying to be natural but come on. When MS released MS Flight all we're hungry for something different then FSX (compete with X-plane-10) but all you got was a X-BOX arcade style DUKE NUKEM flightsim (No gauges, GPS, real control, etc.) AVSIM needs to support the flight simmer and call a flop a flop. FSX will be the last flightsim from MS that can say "AS REAL AS IT GETS" and be supported by external enthusiasts companies, I expect that most simmers will convert to X-plane once they deem FSX obsolete. Feb 28th 2012 will be a icon in MS history of how to take a super popular flightsim and convert it to a arcade simulation (all about the $$$) Very Disappointed!!!

I can only surmise that you barely scratched the surface. While the instruments on the ICON A5 are simple, they are deliberately so. The instruments on the Stearman however do work, as do the ones on the Vans RV-6 and the Maule. Even the avionics on the latter two work correctly!I'm anxiously waiting for the first person to successfully complete the most difficult aerobatic challenge, which is to fly all of the required routine 100% and stay within the flight box.In all honesty, it took me about ten hours during the beta testing to get rid of my preconceptions and wipe the sneer off my haughty face! I'm very glad now that I did though, as Flight has forced me to relearn some of my very rusty flying skills! :LMAO:
