March 2, 201214 yr I was in FSX and was thinking what was running, I looked into Task Manager and saw something like search / indexer.exe and said, why is this running when I did Nick N's tweaks? So I ended it.In FSX, I went to load a flight plan and was clicking through directories when all of a sudden that open file dialog box froze. What's up with that?====MSI X58 i7 920 @ 2.87 ghz, OCZ Platinum 6 gig triple channel @ 1333mhzEVGA GeForce 260 - 896 mbWin 7 64 bit Edited March 2, 201214 yr by bic 10700k / Gigabyte 3060

So I ended it.Windows indexing and a Windows 7 system program. It is always running in the background to index all your files and documents so it can find the files faster if you conduct a search of your system. Some people disable it but stopping it through the Task Manager is not the way to stop it. Click on the Start button and type Indexing in the search bar and then look up in the menu and you'll see Indexing Options, click on this for more info. Within Indexing Options you can click on the links that describe Indexing and exactly what it does. In any case, it has nothing to do with the operation of FSX. Leave indexing running in the background.Best regards,Jim
