Minimized screen won't expand- crash!

Featured Replies

This is really frustrating.I load up fs9, choose plane and flight, , then minimize it (before hitting 'FLY NOW') to start a utility- usually weather related, or a fligt planner. But when I hit the minimize bar, fs crashes. If I hit FLY NOW, and then minimize, it shrinks without crashing, but then when I try to restore it, it freezes as a black rectangle.Any ideas?EytanP3 2.4 GhzGeForce 2 MX200 64MB512 DDRWindows Professional 2000Latest FSUIPC unregistered

Sadly, your graphics card probably isn't up to the job. However, you could try updated drivers, or using the Windows key to minimise and restore program.Allcott

I get this all the time. Well not the immediate shrink, but the black screen. I'm not exactly sure what causes it, but I've found a work around. If you go back to full screen and the cursor start's flashing, hit alt+enter to go back to windowed mode. You still won't see the actually rendered view but you will be able to see the top menu bar. Go to options and display. Go to weather and turn off detailed clouds. Go back to options and display and turn off "render to texture." When you click ok the view should be back. Now hit alt+enter to re-enter fullscreen, then go to Options and Display and re-enable render to texture and click ok. Then go back again and re-enable detailed clouds and you should be set.Do everything seperate. In other words don't disable render to texture and detailed clouds in the same step because, more often than not, it crashes for me.
