March 8, 201214 yr Flew MDW to PIT, high altitude.Bravo! Big improvement. Best overcasts conditions I have ever experienced in FSX.Problems: On infrequent occasions when AS2012 was calling for overcast conditions there were very few small breaks in the clouds. Will continue to test.I am exited. March 8, 201214 yr Hi Zachiii, that is great to hear. It might be of help to increase the sliders in the cloud options to help with the breaks and increase your Cloud_Coverage_Denisty in the fsx.cfg to 12 to help also.
March 9, 201214 yr Author Completed RDU-EWN at 11000 feet cruise.Broken weather depiction perfect.Overcast conditions, BIG improvement. Problems, 1) viewing outside the aircraft from top down, I can usually see the ground, not a signifcant problem, 2) there are infrequent and very small breaks in the overcast, a small problem, and 3) as you decend to about 1000' above the overcast, the overcast begins disappearing and you can see the ground.Overall, SP1 Beta is a very big improvement in overcast depiction.Super thanks!
