So I noticed that there was a 737 classic in the file library that was FSX native so I decided to install it. Problem is, it's crashing as soon as I load the simulator. I'm wondering if anyone else is having the same issues. I know about turning off the aircraft overstress option, but I'm using FSpassengers and I think it's turning it on automatically when I load up a flight. Just trying to figure out why it's happening so I can enjoy the classic plane in P3d. https://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fsxac&DLID=200021

Hello guys, Sorry that the servers went down. I know it is frustrating and I also use AS2012 and was affected the same as you. Thanks for your patience and understanding. Damian has been working hard and it should be resolved now. If you find that you are having additional issues with it or see it is down the fastest was to let us know is via our support system. I had numerous tickets reporting the problem and I want to thank each of you for sending in your reports. As advance as technology is these things do happen. Regards, Joshua

Welcome to the HiFi Community Forum at AVSIM! AVSIM has generously provided this forum as a community discussion hub for HiFi products including Active Sky. This is a private forum moderated by HiFi staff, and a few rules apply when posting here. Please take a moment to review this short list of rules: This is not an official support mechanism. You must sign your posts with your REAL FULL NAME. Posts without your real full name are subject to immediate removal. Developers and Staff do monitor the forums and occasionally participate in discussion, but technical and order support should be directed to our official Support Center for a timely response. If you are seeking a solution to a problem, please search the HiFi Support Center Knowledgebase and this forum before posting a new question. Most common issues are already documented with solutions provided. Please remember that this is the HiFi Active Sky forum, not a place to promote competitive products. This is for the discussion of Active Sky. We've been lenient recently about this but enough is enough. Any such posts will be removed immediately without explanation. If you wish to compare and promote competitive products, use other forums. Thanks for your understanding. Hi everyone. Most of you are aware of our recent adoption of the HiFi Support Center ticketing system as our primary and official support mechanism, but we realize a few were a bit confused. Thanks go out to AVSIM for adjusting our forum name and description to help with things. To reiterate, the Active Sky forum here at AVSIM is now a community resource for discussion of all things Active Sky, with continued participation from HiFi developers and staff, but on an unofficial basis. This change allows us to better support our customers using official channels and ticket system features (i.e. attachments, log collection, product registration, scheduling, follow-up, organization, knowledge base, software updates, etc.), helps us avoid wasting critical resources supporting "pirate" users, improves overall process efficiency and, most importantly, helps improve our focus on new development. As a very small company with very few resources (yet very big development goals), streamlining our systems and improving efficiency is critical. Thank you for your understanding in our decision to implement the Support Center as our official system. If you haven't yet, please take a moment to visit, register, and check out the available resources such as in-progress beta updates and the knowledge base.We look forward to serving you via the Support Center as well as occasionally participating here at the Active Sky forum on AVSIM. We have some exciting things in store, and will be sharing all the details soon.Thank you all for your continued support! Need Help? Click Here --> Support Center

We have identified a new potential problem which appears to be caused by some SSD devices during our license algorithms and may result in constant activation requests. We have prepared a test update which should solve this issue as confirmed by a few users who have experienced this. The update is at: http://dreamcatcher.hifisim.com/ActiveSky2012_Update_B4622.zip After installing this update, a further activation request (or 2) will complete but further requests should cease. Thank you and we apologize for the inconvenience. If you have any problems with this update or further activation issues please open a ticket and let us know.

DX10 Flashing Runways - Experimental Shader
-Joshua- replied to SteveFx's topic in DX-10 Discussions, Hints and Help
Have to say, This fix improved my FSX epxerience 100x. If you don't have addon converter x...you must get it. It makes all of my textures compatible with DX10. I'm getting steady 50 - 60FPS and it's very smooth now running DX10. Thanks for your hard work and this wonderful fix. -
Server Issues

Hi Chuck. We don't anticipate many downtime. If you do experience any types of interruption, please let me know so I can have it fixed asap. With an increase in data download comes the need for better servers to handle the request. It's part of growing pains. Thanks for everyone's patience. -

Using FSX controls in X-Plane.
-Joshua- replied to Bugor's topic in The X-Plane General Discussions Forum
I agree, the one thing holding me back from switching to X plane 10 from FSX is the horrible key functionality of Xplane. The XPlane keys are just not user friendly. -
Hello again,I wanted to open this thread to remind people, if you are having issues with the software you will get an official response by opening a ticket athttp://support.hifitechinc.comWe use this ticket system as our official support means now and this forum is for unofficial support and help from other community members and a place for people to come to discuss the software. It is also a very good reference for past issues that is avaliable to everyone to use.I see many post about frustrated users and comments about the development team not posting here, and wanted to remind everyone that OFFICIAL support is done through the ticket system.Thank you and hope everyone has a great weekend.

Thats a personal opinion you have and I respect it like I do all opinions. I personally think AS2012 has some of the best overcast I've visually seen in FSX. While I said it was a limitation , I never said it was impossible. I'm not a programmer (and never have claimed to be) I just know it is a well documented limitation of the game.
-
In response to HiFly. While it is possible to produce the overcast results manually, try to fly the entire flight on manual. You'll see 0 visibility your entire route. So, again, when you hear the phrase "it is a FSX coding issue to produce true overcast" that's what it is. I understand what you are saying in terms of wanting true overcast and I too want that same thing. So your critiques are appreciated. If it were possible to have true overcast I believe Damian and his team would have accomplished it.

I do not believe you will have to rebuild your snapshots. Try it without doing this and see how it works.
